Roman Signer ist in Appenzell geboren und studierte an der Kunstgewerbeschulen
Zürich und Luzern. Heute arbeitet und lebt er in St. Gallen. Roman Signer ist
Bildhauer, Installations-/ Aktionskünstler, Filmer, Zeichner. Bekannt wurde er
durch spektakuläre Aktionen und Installationen mit Dynamit – Sprengungen und
Explosionen gehören zu den Merkmalen seines Werkes. Seine Arbeiten sind
Untersuchungen elementarer Kräfte und dem Material eigener Energien und
Möglichkeiten. Signer bezeichnet sie als Zeitskulpturen oder Ereignisse. Gefahr,
physisches Risiko wird bei ihm zu einem Stimulans der Sinne. Roman Signer wird
zwei neuere Arbeiten zeigen: Fass mit Revolver (2006), Skulptur, und Am Tisch
(2004).
