Die russisch-israelische Künstlerin Marina Belobrovaja studierte Kunst in Berlin
und Zürich und befasste sich mit verschiedenen bildnerischen Medien, bis sie
sich vorwiegend auf die Performancekunst konzentrierte. Marina Belobrovaja
arbeitet vorwiegend im Grenzbereich zwischen gesellschaftlicher Realität und
künstlerischer Praxis. Ihre Aktionen thematisieren auf provokative, aber auch
humorvolle Art politische und gesellschaftliche Begebenheiten. In der Aktion Die
Abschiebung thematisiert die Künstlerin die rechtlich prekären Verhältnisse in
denen sie seit 12 Jahren in Europa lebt. Am 21 August 2007 lief ihre
Aufenthaltsbewilligung in der Schweiz – (fünf Jahre der Lebensmittelpunkt der
Künstlerin) – endgültig aus. Auf dem Helvetiaplatz in Zürich wurde vom 6 bis 11
August ein Bus aufgestellt, in dem sich der gesamte Besitz von Belobrovaja
befand. Auf einem grossen Plakat stand geschrieben: "Schaffen Sie mich hier
raus! Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, meine Aufenthaltsbewilligung läuft am 21
August ab. Leider besitze ich keinen Führerschein. Bitte, helfen Sie mir, mich
rauszuschaffen, tun Sie etwas Gutes für Ihr Land!" Welche Grenze (Frankreich,
Deutschland, Italien oder Österreich) angesteuert wird, die Distanz und die
Dauer der Fahrt sind den freiwilligen Fahrern und Fahrerinnen überlassen.
