Wir stehen vor einem Grossereignis für die Schweiz, der EM08. Hunderttausende von Menschen werden sich in eine Art Völkerwanderung, von Stadion zu Stadion, von der Schweiz nach Österreich und wieder zurück, in alle europäischen Richtungen begeben. Die Fussballfans sind nicht gerade die Touristen, die normalerweise erwartet werden, bringen sie doch oft kulturelle Aspekte mit, die nicht unbedingt beliebt sind. Doch ich spreche trotzdem von "kulturellen Aspekten", denn Fussball, ja eigentlich jede Sportveranstaltung, hat diese. Allerdings ist die Ausbreitung nicht von langer Dauer. Oft sind es nur Blitze, die durch eine Stadt schwirren, gefolgt von Donnerschlägen und Polizeisirenen.

Tourismus kann erschrecken, kann Ablehnungen und Aggressionen auslösen. Wenn wir unser Land weiter in die vorgeschlagene Richtung einiger Politiker führen, werden fremde Kulturen noch weiter an uns vorbei geleitet, ohne dass wir es/sie spüren, kennen wir sie doch gar nicht.

Die Fussball Europameisterschaft 2008 ist für unser Land eine Chance, Tourismus mit fremden Kulturen zu verbinden, sie zu erkennen. Es sind nicht die Presseorgane, die uns wöchentlich Hooligans in die Stube bringen, die wir ernst nehmen müssen, es sind die Menschen, die wir mit der Bewerbung für die Europameisterschaft, gerufen haben. Verhalten wir uns entsprechend und freuen uns auf ein befruchtendes Chaos. Reclaim the Arts.
